Thrush and Mooncup

Alas my Mooncup has sent some thrush to my treasure trove.

It itches like anythin' and is all burny.

Has anybody else experienced this (I know most women will have had thrush)?

I hate taking medication, but if I have to, what's the best?

If I do, how long does it take to clear?

If I don't, how long will it take to clear?

are you sure its def thrush coz i sometimes get this with my mooncup if the cleaning solution has bn too strong or if im too dry down there when i put it in.

ive only had thrush once and i used the canestin duo.

ive heard putting plain natural yoghurt on a tampon then putting it in can be soothing if ur trying to steer away from too much medicine. dont think this will cure it though, just help.

cranberry juice is for cystitis by the way.

Its not going to be the mooncup that causes it, but it may be because you have to have more hand to vagina contact inserting a mooncup, that less than scrupulous hand hygiene or roughness can cause thrush, coupled with the fact youre more prone to it at the time of your period anyway. Also if youve not rinsed it thoroughly after using a cleaning solution on it perhaps?

The best remedy is a good old fashioned canesten pessary and cream which you can get from your doctor, or over the counter
More natural remedies are live natural yoghurt (nothing with any sugar in as that will make it worse), both eaten and inserted into your vagina. You could even fill your mooncup with it and leave it overnight.

Yeah, I think it is thrush.

I've been run down recently, I think I might be anaemic. Started taking iron supplements yesterday, so if I don't improve I'll go to the doctor.

I shall get some canesten later.
