As a motion-sickness sufferer, I can appreciate how crappy this is!

Most trains or other forms of public transport usually have someone you can alert if you feel unwell and need some sort of medical attention - any member of staff you can grab on a train should be able to help. They usually base themselves at one end of the train, but you can also tell a passing ticket inspector.

  • Hey Laura,

I get the feeling that's not the outcome you were after, but it does sound like it might be quite a positive move overall to be with your family.

The Citizens' Advice Bureau was a good shout by Robert - they can give you legal and financial advice and information around things like this. Not sure if that's relevant to your situation any more, but thought I'd...

Two that spring to mind are the Huawei P8 Lite and Ulefone Be Touch 2. The Huawei one came strongly recommended to me by a colleague and you should be able to find one (maybe refurbished) in your price range. I've had the Ulefone Be Touch for a few years now and it was only 150ish when I bought it, lasted very well and performed decently considering how cheap it was. Should be able to find one of...

    Hey Jelly,

Even though things might feel hopeless, continuing to reach out to us here shows some great fighting spirit. Referral times can be a bit of a nightmare too, but hopefully something comes out of that. Assuming you could get it, what kind of support would be most helpful for you at the moment?

How are you getting on today?

Remember, St. Valentine isn't just known for love/couples - he's also the patron saint of beekeeping, bars and plague (among other things). Who says you can only celebrate love on Valentine's Day.

  • Probably treat myself to a pizza, Coke, and binge on some form of TV/movie/game/other screen-related activity.

I say that like it's any different to most of my other days.

  • I'll have to watch it! I'm planning to have a bit of a binge on films this weekend, so I'll add it to the list.

I actually came across this just now, thought it was pretty relevant.

    Hey Shaunie,

Reading this, I can feel the weight of your words and tell how much this void of feeling is affecting you. That feeling of numbness and exhaustion is something that I think a lot of folks here will be able to empathise very strongly with. When anyone battles something inside for so long, it couldn't be more normal to eventually become numb to it. That said, feeling like...

    Obligatory meme thread

Something the boards seem to be missing is somewhere to share good ol' memes. Post them below!

NB: The usual boards guidelines still apply. Inoffensive fun stuff only.

I'm kinda jealous of the changing user titles you guys have. 'Moderator' gets a bit boring.

  • Love this thread!

Independents that spring to mind for me are Drive and Juno.

I've never actually seen Drive so I couldn't tell you what it's about (although people keep recommending it to me), but the soundtrack is amazing.

I'd really recommend watching Juno if anyone hasn't seen it though - both the movie itself and the soundtrack are absolutely killer. It's...

  • Ha! I didn't think it was possible until I noticed you were using one, Skive. From what I can tell, the file size needs to be super small and the image needs to be below 200x200px (if it needs to be resized it strips out the animation). Did you make yours from scratch?

meggles as above - if you can find an animated gif below 200x200 pixels on Google images, it should work. The ones with...

Aaah Steph, this really sucks. Don't blame yourself though - I can really relate to this. Sometimes getting up that early is genuinely difficult depending on your health and, to be fair, we all sleep through alarms sometimes regardless. Do you know how long the wait will be now?

  • Hey yassine, and welcome to the community.

This thread is about 6 years old now so I'm going to close it. We tend not to post in any thread that's considered 'dead' - you can find some more info about the more unspoken rules of the boards in our Good Manners Guide. That said, we'd really encourage you to post your own threads on these things if you like.
