    replied to Suicide
I think suicide is pretty taboo to discuss, really. It's kind of one of those awkward topics that if you bring into a room (including a classroom) and says "lets all talk about suicide for an hour" everyone falls silent and doesn't make much eye contact when they finally have to take it seriously.

And y'know, even in the one single class I had on depression in pshe we didn't...

'Cause some people want to be in a freindship but not a romantic relationship with those they date (not exactly as an aim of the date i mean, but if u meet someone u like but don't want a romantic relationship with why wouldnt u wanna befriend them). Some people don't want either of those.

  • As much as you may want to help them, if it's distressing for you, then the most you can really do is point them to services that may help online, or give suggestions that don't require talking to you. As much as it's absolutely awful for them, they shouldn't push their grief onto you and cause you stress, i think sometimes it's impossible to help others in the way we'd like to when we can't be stable...

replied to Talking to a doctor
Hopefully you have a good doctor (albeit mean) so she won't dismiss your problems - that would be bad conduct on their part.

When you start the conversation, if they are already aware you're talking to them about depression (i read the other thread) then she may start the conversation herself, otherwise you can simply start by saying "I think i have depression". If it's a GP...

    A dream- a lifegoal

So for a while i've had a dream, a goal, the ONE thing i want to do in my life above all other things:
Help provide proper mental health education (especially in high schools).

Now some context; In high school I was only taught about one singular mental disorder- depression. And badly at that. And sure, it's a start but that was it, the only thing we were taught about mental health...

replied to Share your exams tips!
Teaching & discussing with other people has probably been my best way to revise. I, and a creed of other students, in my psychology class offered to ourselves run psychology revision workshops over AS content (we have A2 exams in summer) and planning + teaching lessons has both made me revise and sharpened my skills.

Aside that, i like to do this thing if i need to remember specific...

  • I guess it kind depends on the workplace? But coming late to work sometimes means set up time that's missed and is key is not done - for ex one of my parnets works in a print shop and if she's late, key machines used for printing & sewing projects aren't ready to work by the time the shop opens, and since it all needs to be set up when shop opens her being late means someone else (who also has...

  • TBH i work in an incredibly specific job so i'm not sure how generalisable my experiences are but-

1)How you know you were ready for work.
I tend to act on impulse whenever things arise because i know i won't do them otherwise so i volunteered for this work as soon it came up/shot, but in all seriousness at the time (hah) i saw myself ready for work because i could manage my anxiety...
