I've just got in from work and it was rubbish collection day this morning, as I was coming down the back lane to park outside my house I noticed rubbish strewn all over the place and gathered that seagulls or a dog or whatever had been and ripped open peoples bin liners this morning. I got to my house and my neighbours dad was parked in my way, I was attempting to get parked and he came out and...

1. Get a load of cornflour/custard powder, mix it with water so its 'just' liquid and put it in a container. If you walk on it you'll sink into it, if you jump on it you won't. What's that 'phenomena' called ?
2. If you put 2 strips of different metals together and heat them they expand at different rates and it bends, it's called 'The xxxxxx of metals' ?
u've been warned..
Perhaps it's a sign that I'm mellowing up as I age, but this one's really touched me.
A few days ago, Bethany Fenton's dream came true. She got to sing for Simon Cowell at the Britain's Got Talent studios on Saturday night. She sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to him off camera and got to be a VIP guest at the show afterwards. Her dad said that she'd spent the weekend making gifts of beaded...

The word thee is a old word your "you", but is there an expression for "them"?
As if you are telling a story about two other people?
/e: did some research, but didn't find anything. Doesn't matter tho, cuz I just put something else. So don't bother.

Since my last few chat posts have been rather late (like "oops chat starts in ten minutes and I haven't told anyone!" kind of late) I thought I'd let you know well in advance this week that I will be here doing chat on Sunday evening from 7 till 9pm! :)
So if you're around on Sunday and fancy some good old chit chat about past, present and future with a great friendly crowd then...
I've just noticed the sheer number of TheSiters who wrote their birthday as today, 6th June. More than usual - 16 in total. Only 4 of them have made more than 15 posts and most of them are 0 or 1-post wonders. If any of you read this though, then happy birthday!

This is the shamelessly self-indulgent "I Want a Hug" thread. Apply for your hugs here, stating why you should receive one. Maybe the next kind person to come along will bring a hug with them :thumb:
That's not to say that you will want it when you get it! :nervous: lol!
I want a hug because I'm feeling sleepy and because I'm feeling lonely this morning. Boohoo me! :crying: ...
O.M.G... I've been travelling aaaalllll day. Still not at my destination :impissed: Just stopping off in an internet cafe, and then going for food :thumb:
Anyone done anything exciting with their day?
any suggestions for things to do?

I don't know what to do with myself without them. I can't read or knit unless I have something else going on to hold my attention when my concentration fails after a few...
