  3. The "Last Movie You Watched" thread

What was the last movie you watched? Me - Zatoichi. Great stuff - great action, great acting (especially from Kitano) and the music was excellent, particularly the bits with the field workers/house builders. You?

  4. Post "Deserted station" (translated lyrics)

This thread is very random but I just wanted to share this. I love this guy's lyrics in general but I first heard this song today and it almost made me cry. (The original is in Greek, the translation is my work. I'm not sure it conveys the feeling as well) Like a fallen sign in an empty street, a train that never arrived and is rusting on the track, empty and alone, cracked by suns and...

  6. The "Last Book You Finished" thread

I present to you good folk this, a companion thread to the "Last Movie You Watched" thread (one of the longest running I might add), if you will, inspired by my recent completion of Iain M. Banks' Consider Phlebas, which was very good indeed apart from a bit of filler. I think I've finally found my genre in space opera :) Reading it makes me want to try writing it :) So anyway, what was the...

  13. TheSite.org Book Club: Discussion on March's Book - 'Snuff' by Terry Pratchett

Hi folks! Just a reminder, we will be having a Live Chat on this book on Wednesday 11th April at 7pm :). So, how did we find Snuff? For me, having only read a couple of Discworld books (and a LONG time ago), this was a bit of a departure from my usual reads (what can I say, I like my reading to be dark and gloomy!). But I loved it! It took me a while to really get into it and I thought...

  22. TheSite.org Book Club: Discussion on January's book - 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett.

Because ShyBoy hasn't done a thread yet, have a thread. I got half way through this book before I reached February, so I'm not the best judge here. I quite liked it after I'd gotten used to the dialect style of writing, but not enough for me to be motivated to finish it as my not-Book-Club book (for when I need something else). I have a ridiculous headache right now so that's about as much...
