Forum: Creative

Express yourself

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: So, what's this for then?

Well, you asked for it, so here it is! We've built this corner of the forum to allow people to express themselves. That could mean poetry, scribblings, whole novels, music, art, film - whatever you've created yourself. And that's the main point, this is about what you've created. It can be an online portfolio with no feedback, a chance to check something specific or your opportunity to...

  1. Yarn stores

Where do you get yours? I like The Black Sheep for basics, Cucumber Patch (although the website is a pain to navigate) or my LYS is Loop in Islington for a decent range (including lots of Cascade). Anyone else?

  2. Cheer Me Up - Photo Stop

Hey peeps, This is a place to upload your favourite pictures which cheer you up in your darkest days, can be anything at all, entirely your choice! You could also give a little description of what it is (if it's not obvious!) and why it cheers you up! I shall start with this photo of a lovely water fountain in the city centre which changes all different colours, cheers me up on the darkest...

  3. What are you making in 2012?

What is everyone's plans to make in 2012? On my list is a tea cosy for my Uncle and his girlfriend (who amusingly are called Richard and Judy), a white kitten for me, a pair of purple beaded gloves for me, a lace top for me, a hat for my step-sister and of course a man-thong for my best man friend who promises to model it for us!

  4. piccolo playing the piccolo

You see - I really do! LGSW look a bit like the gay wing of the BNP in this video, but that's just because it was our jubilee/Prom themed concert. We're not really crazy nationalists!

  5. To Whom It May Concern!

Hello, this is Octi's story while he was at my house. I arrived at Abi's house on May 19, exactly on her birthday, wow what a coincidence, I also arrived with TheSite.org T-shirt she always wheres when going to bed, I'm sure it's not a PJ top, but oh well! I was at Abi's house, in a small package waiting to be opened, she arrived home after 4:30, she was at Rounders, I was thankful she came home...

  7. Repairing woollies

I have about 5 jumpers which have been attacked by moths! I haven't the foggiest about how I repair them, and one of which needs to be dyed another colour. Should I do that first? So repairing techniques and wool dye suggestions please! Also does freezing woollies that have been moth attacked actually kill off the larvae? Thank you!!

  11. Starting a local group.

Heeeeeey. So I need your help and stuff. On Monday I went to the local knitting group, and it was full of...well...older people. The vast majority of them were close to or over retiring age, and I felt a little bit weird. They were all lovely, don't get me wrong, but the idea of me going to do this kind of thing was to mingle and make friends. So I want to start my own knitting group,...
