  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: Volunteering and Activism user guide

Welcome to the Volunteering and Activism user guide. This board is part of our Volunteering section on TheSite.org. So what's it all about? Well, ultimately it's about changing the world for the better, but what you can discuss here is by no means set in stone. You could talk about: Ways that you are involved in projects and campaigns Things you do to make a difference

  1. What do you do?

I'm just being nosey now. Do you do any volunteering/activism on a regular or occasional basis? I tend to forget that lots of people in the real world don't, and am still getting over the confused looks I got from colleagues at lunch about what I do.

  11. Splitting money between charities?

If do an event that isn't charity-specific, is it possible (and how?) to split the money between more than one charity? Am just thinking that I may get more sponsors that way. I am hoping to do it all online - much easier that way.

  12. Volunteering & work hours

There are an awful lot of things I wish I could volunteer and do to help out people and organisations (such as youthnet). Just wondered if there were many other people who find that their job gets in the way of loads of opportunities they want to get involved in? I often help out in various roles during the week when I'm on holiday time, but I just wish it was more. Anyone else out there...

  20. Volunteer work..

Okay so I basically got myself into a bit of a hole, I was supposed to choose where I wanted to do my 40 hours of volunteer work and it sort of crossed my mind. Seeing how all the 'good' volunteer jobs are taken, there was only one option I could choose from and that was to be a lawn repair worker. Now I do not know about you, but I have NEVER lived in a house with a lawn before and have NEVER...

  21. Anti-Cuts Campaigns

Please remove this mods, if you think it's inappropriate... But I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread about the anti-cuts campaigning, listing dates, campaigns, or organisations people concerned about the cuts can get involved with... Obviously I don't mean this as a thread to debate whether or not we agree with the cuts, just about what's going on for potential activists.
