Is it a rich man's world?
Whilst the full guide is written here's a quick overview of this forum. It's for any issue you have around housing or your home (buying, selling, renting or just furnishing); anything about specific legal and consumer issues (can a shop do this, should they have arrested me this way, will I go to court as a witness, can I sue my neighbours for painting their house pink); and finally money (what's...
I've lost my NI card and need a replacement adn got a form from the job centre. One of the questions on the form is to do with previous addresses. But how far am I meant to go back to? The house I currently live in, I've lived in for about 12 years.
I did try asking for help on E-Bay, but i only had one reply and i'm not sure how helpful it was :chin:
I've been with paypal for years and had no problems, untill now. I recently had a new bank card, so i updated my details on paypal. My sellers fees appear to have been taken out OK, but every time i try to pay for something using Paypal it says my card was declined. I have a £650...
We've been out and about to quiz you on your charitable ways - do you give any money to charity, whether it be a few pennies in a collection box or a more regular donation, or do you have other ways of giving to the less fortunate?
Have a listen...
Do you give money to charity?
I'm thinking of applying for one, but I have a problem:
I was going to get one because I'm registered partially sighted, but have been told that I can't get the discount unless I trvael with someone, but I tend to travel on my own alot. Does anyone know if there's any way of getting the discount and travelling by myself?
As the title says really. We moved out on the 1st July and still haven't received our deposits. My housemates dad send him a letter saying we'll take him to the small claims court if he doesnt pay up, but still nothing  anything I do, what are my rights?
Didn't really know where to put this so sorry if it's in the wrong place....
I'm going to be living and working in London in the next few months but I have no idea where to live. I'm going to be working in the central city area so I think I've got quite a bit of choice over which area to live in.
I'd like to live somewhere fairly lively and young but not somewhere sloane square-ish with a...
I trekked all the way down to London from North Wales (over 200 miles) today to collect keys for my flat. The contract asks for rent from the 21st July, I moved in today.
However the flat is filthy... And by filthy I mean that it's been torn apart... A radiator is not attached to the wall, but lying in the middle of a room, there is cigarette on the windowcills, wood rot on one of the windows,...
Ok.... so I'm looking to get a new car. I have my trusty old peugeot which I plan to use in part exchange- or I could sell her privately for around £900. I want to get a Nissan Figaro and the going rate for the type I want is £5000. So basically I don't know what's the best way to fund it- get a loan, get a car on finance- I don't really car so long as I don't get screwed over on interest...
I didn't know where to put this, i have a car but technically i'm still a learner although i can drive no problem i have failed my test purely down to nerves on test day but don't get nervous when driving around with anyone else, a friend has offered to take me out they meet the requirements of being over 21 and have had a driving license for 3 or more years but does he need to be insured on my...
Is there any way I can get my provider to do this for me, only I dont want some ex boyfs/friends contacting me with going through the hassle of a new contract phone number?
Well, basically, I have a bit of money stowed away in a very old account. I want to put it into a savings account and add to it each month. I am under the impression that ISAs give the best rate of interest (is this correct?).
I basically want to put my money into an account that will give me the best amount of interest and, probably, set up a DD so I can transfer money to it once a month....
Do I need to wait for the council to give me my card (similar to an ID card I think) to say that I'm partially sighted before applying for a bus pass or can I take the paperwork I got fom the eye infirmary instead?
I'm such a fucking drunken mug. lol
I woke up this morning with no wallet! I remember banging on my door last night because I couldn't get in, but I didn't click then.
It must be in a club somewhere or in the taxi... it has my provisional driving lisence, my debit card and my house key in it. I think it had a couple of pills in it aswell.
I take it I need to cancel my debit card, but what do I...
Right...I need a credit card but I'm a bit clueless about what's on offer.
I used to have one with my bank (HSBC) but I often forgot to make the payments but I'm planning on being more organised this time!
Do egg or capital one (I think?!) still do these interest free for a year ones?
Which credit cards would people recommend?
Thanks very much :thumb:
... of tracing your national insurance number?
It's a long stupid story (and isn't as bad as this thread makes it sound!) but basically I need my mates national insurance number but she's on holiday
Anyway I or the people that need it could trace it?
I'm moving to Austalia for the forseeable future. What do I have to do?!
I need to renew my passport anyway, and get in touch with the student loans people, but do I need to tell the tax people or anything? I've never really worked in this country anyway, but I want to cover all my bases.
I've got a normal kinda gas lift office chair (without the arms) but think it's time to replace it as the padding don't seem as supportive as it used to be ..
I am thinking about getting something like this as it looks very ergonomic but it don't seem to have any wheels which would be a problem.
Any idea who sell chairs like this you can actually see and try out?
Iím planning to move to oxford
Because Iím tired of the town I live in
I have no real friends
Just a bunch of random folks I hardly see
I have never embarked on such a mission before
This will be the first time I will be on my own as such
I feel somewhat afraid, anxious about the endeavour
I donít know anyone in oxford
Our back garden has just been cleared out and we've discovered soil underneath all the crap! I wanted have sopme flowers but is it too late to plant them now? If not which ones can be grown, or is it not work planting them until next year?

my friend was told be his landlord that he had one week to vacate his house. the reason was that for the two months hes been there he has only cleaned once. i understand that he should be cleaning which is what i told him. we have lived before and he isnt messy at all and even more hygienic than myself. he said that the reason he didnt clean was that most of the...
I'm sure I can't be the only person on here to have just went for the cheapest breakdown cover...well I found out the hard way earlier this week that the 30 quid cheapest AA cover is useless, same goes for the cheap cover with the RAC or any of the others. So my beloved Mini overheats badly on the motorway. Call out the AA, engine is pretty much cooked, stinks of oil and it'll be a few days in...
This might be in the wrong thread but I don't know where to put it.
Ok, so I'm starting to learn to drive again because I need a car. Alot of the jobs I'm looking to apply to require you to have a full clean driving licence so I may as well buy a car whilst I'm at it so its easier to visit home, do shopping, etc.
I'm not looking for anything special but I really don't know where to start....
Showing losses around the world of 2 - 3% yesterday, the Dow looks set for another loss of almost 3% today,
Not sure what to comment on this with really, just thought some people might have some interesting points, and it would make a change from some of the same old topics that are getting...
I'm learning to drive atm, I have my car ready and waiting (old peugeot 106) and it doesn't have power steering. Unfortunately, my dad is refusing to let me drive it until I pass so i get no practice. I'm just wondering what the difference is without power steering and I'm a bit worried it will affect my driving, what with being a new driver and learned in a car with power steering to driving one...
