Is it a rich man's world?
Whilst the full guide is written here's a quick overview of this forum. It's for any issue you have around housing or your home (buying, selling, renting or just furnishing); anything about specific legal and consumer issues (can a shop do this, should they have arrested me this way, will I go to court as a witness, can I sue my neighbours for painting their house pink); and finally money (what's...
Ok I'm just posting this to double check my position as a consumer here.
I've got an Xbox 360 game. It's the second copy I've had to buy this year as both copies have developed a crack from inside the disc working its way outwards.
Now from what I've read so far under the Sales of Goods act 1979 and further amendments as I have the receipt and I did not damage the product myself I am...
Has anyone experienced a major move of towns/cities on their own before? Other than going to uni I mean. I'm in a situation now where I'm only at my job until the end of next week, Im looking for another one and things keep springing up in different parts of the country which would be perfect if I lived there. I just constantly feel like Oxford is going to be somewhere that I associate with...
Taken a year out of uni, althought still need to make it 'official' purely cause i'm feeling its the right thing for me at this time.
Looking at my options right now, the one thing that keeps coming up in my head is moving to London for six months in the new year.
Don't want to do anythng too rash so thats why i'm not leaving as we speak, but I am nineteen and feel like at the stage i am at...
Do they deliverately make the forms as difficult as possible to fill in or something? I'ce been considering doing this for a while, but there seems no point even filling them as there's sod all (that I can see) relating to eye sight - it all seems to be about walking and medication.
ok, first of all, do you have to have actually graduated to have get of these?? ive had my results, know my marks, just havent attended a graduation ceremony yet.
Also, can you get long term savings account (like an isa) as opposed to just an account with a debit card.
What are the benefits of graduate accounts? better interest rates or summat?
Just something im looking into cos ive heard alot...
Ok, so if a driver knocks someone over, and gets out of the car to tell the victim "you shouldn't really have done that" then gets in his car and drives away. that the accident was caused by both driver and victim, but avoidable if the driver had been paying attention.
Would you be able to get them done for hit and run? Yes I did get his number plate, and no I'm not too badly hurt.
There was an accident in my work last month whilst I was covering a shift in the restaurant (I work for a large department store)
I was OK with speaking to the health and safety inspector but now the person involved wants me to be a witness and a solicitor would like to contact me.
I'm doing well in my work, I'm established there and don't want to jeapordise my job (albeit weekend/part...
My friend got a laptop last xmas, the battery went weird 3 months ago so she got it repaired because it was under warranty. The battery has just gone again and it's still under warranty but this time the manufacturers are refusing to repair it. Are they allowed to do this even though it's still under warranty?
I'm now one year and 5 months into a personal injury claim, after being a passenger in a car accident last year (no fault on our part). I'm still having lots of problems with the injuries I sustained in the accident, and am due another medical any time now. At the time of the accident, I suffered a moderate concussion, fractured coccyx and whiplash. We were all discharged from hospital half an...
So my boyfriend (and me) are looking in to buying a house, it's only been a recent thing, as in this weekend recent, anyway the question really is does anyone know of any good lenders that will give him a mortgage as his earning circumstances are slightly different, in the fact that he is full time and permantl employment by an emolyer (house building company) but the amount he earns is variable...
I've been off work sick for the last couple of days, heart palpitations and sweating like a nympho. It comes and goes, but I handed in a sickline to my work which covers me for tomorrow - so as things stand I'm due back on Friday.
Thing is, it's the football tomorrow night and I'm supposed to be going up to watch it, had a half day booked months in advance. I really want to go...
We have some storage heaters, and tbh have no idea how to use them.
We can apparently store the heat during the day to use at night (or is that the other way around? ) so it is cheaper, however the main issue is when we turn it on it takes a good couple of hours until anything starts coming out.
Please help a frozen koe and bunnie....brrr!!
went to my bank last week and was told that i would have to wait around 6 months for them to assess my eligablity for an overdraft...is this normal?
I dunno if I'm putting this in the right section or not!!!
Anyone know any cheap loan sites? My past two have been with cahoot who have been loads cheaper but it has been taken over by Abbey and the other banks seem to work out the same too :o(
I've tried moneysupermarket.com wanted to know if anyone had any more ideas?!
in 1999 i had a bit of trouble with a neigbourgh which ended up me getting done for ABH (i was protecting my family)in 2000. I was wondering how long this will be on a police file. I am appliying for jobs and they ask if i have a criminal record when can i say no?
I know there's not a lot people on here can say to help me here, and there's probably no more options than what I know already but I can live in hope.
Basically, I can't live at home much longer. The relationship between me and my parents has completely broken down, no matter what I've tried doing to fix it. It's gotten to a point that it's making me ill, I returned home from holiday about 3...

'Lo! I am moving into a gaff on the 21st of this month and the letting agency are saying I need a letter of reference off my parents and one from my employer.
What does a 'reference' entail exactly?
I've had a quick look through search and elsewhere but have a couple of questions.
Basically my entire department have been advised that we are officially on gardening leave until the end of September with a view to possible redundancy if we don't want to re-locate to Rochdale (as the customer service calls will be dealt with there from now on)
We've been advised that we will be called in...
My boyfriend received a fine from our council for fly tipping as they went through the rubbish and found correspondence to him.
He's not lying about it - the two blocks of flats seem to be putting their rubbish in one area at the front of the flats because it gets collected from there almost every day.
However, after almost two months at this flat, there hasn't been one rubbish collection...
I lost my provisional ages ago I think I was using it in the toilets some where or something when I was drunk and I haven't seen it since.
I wasn't reaally bothered because I didn't have any money for lessons any way but now I have got some money I need it back or I need to get a new one ..
