  2. Anyone train in Mixed Martial Arts?

When I lived in Wales I used to do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu I got a blue belt and I really enjoyed the training and I made friends there too but I moved away a few months ago so sadly I had to give it up. Now I'm living in Bristol, I'v been looking for a new place to train Jiu-jitsu I couldn't find anywhere but I did find a very cool MMA gym which is just up the road from me. I think I could do it...

  3. Deciding which half marathon training plan to use

I have a half marathon at the end of June and really need start thinking (many are 12 or 16 weeks) what plan I'm going to use. I also have some races during my training too. I've been told this shouldn't be too hard to slot in with the training. How did people decide which one they went for? I've come across some which are based on distance, (but never go above 11 - 12 miles) some are based on...

I have hypermobile joints, and after getting my second injury from ju jistsu I was told that I really really can't do high impact sports. I really want to get back into doing some sport I need to loose weight but I need somethings that I can do without going to a gym or the pool. So what can I do thats not high impact? 7. Should I Quit the Gym?

I've been running for 3 months now and am loving it... I'm training for a half marathon in September and a marathon next April... I'm currently on 10K... I'm thinking about leaving the gym, as it eats up my money. I have kettlebell weights and know exercises I can do and would like to focus on running... Would this be a good idea?

  9. 15 weeks until a marathon - possible?

I started running around March last year and I've ran the Bristol Half Marathon in early September and the Great Eastern Run half marathon in mid October... Thing is, since then, relationship plus extremely busy life meant I stopped training (crap excuse I know, though I'm single now)... The past week I've been hitting the gym again to reclaim my fitness... I had a place in the Brighton...

ok so i've been a member of an expensive gym for the past year. not used it that much and am over a stone heavier than this time last year. it has a swimming pool which is mostly what i have used, but really that is more of a relaxing treat for me as i dont swim fast, just more crawl up and down the lanes for around an hour, just chilling. to those of you who know about exercise, does this...

  12. Mountain boarding

Has anyone done it? I used to be really into martial arts, stunt kite flying, bodyboarding, and such before I started uni, and before I gave myself injuries to my right psoas bursa (jujitsu, it nearly burst), my right adductors (same accident), and my rotor cuff muscles of my left shoulder (after using crutches for 12 weeks and then going back to jujitsu, this hasn't totally repaired itself),...

Ok, sort of moving away from the football team threads and stuff :P But has anyone done Kickboxing before? If so what do you exactly do and what is it like? I was told to do kickboxing as a distraction and a way to vent. I wasn't going to look into it, but I saw a few things and it looks quite fun, any more information? :)

  14. Self Defence Classes

I'm looking to take up a self-defence/martial arts class, as the winters draw in. I wanna feel more confident that if I'm attacked in the street, I can get away with as little harm to myself as possible (I don't care about harming the attacker, but I don't want a criminal record!)... In my area I have different classes such as kung fu, karate, akido, jijitsu, mixed martial arts, muay thai,...

  15. Arsenal seeking new manager - Applications being considered

Well if they were not being considered before the match, the 8-2 thumping at the hands of Man Utd today will mean that its a reasonable to high chance. Has been a good day for northern teams all round Id say.

  22. Royal Parks Half Marathon running group?

Hey boys and girls :D. I got my annual 'ohai, you did the Royal Parks half marathon that one time, you wanna do it again?' email from Youthnet today and I think I might actually go for it this year. Get some use out of those sodding running trainers, maybe ask mum if I can set up the treadmill in my old bedroom when there's no guests around... But I need motivation. And what better motivation...
