I suppose it's dependant entirely upon your point of view. A perversion would be anything sexual someone considers "abnormal"

someone who had no particualr kinks would think somone who was into a bit of bondage was a sexual deviant, but the person who is into bondage will probably consider water sports to be a sexual perversion (as would the first person)

so anything "out of the norm" would be considered a sexual perversion, but that of course depends on what you think normal is :)

of course, in public, anything a bit wierd is probably considered to be a sexual perversion

Preversion is not just that... it is just something that is directed away from right or good... right and good vary depending per person... therefore just bdsm could be perverse as well as role playing ad other stuff like that... just enjoying violent films can be as perverse... it's not just scat play, child molesting and sex with animals...

It depends on several factors including for example the society in which you live and the time period concerned. In the Western World in the modern day we have a lot of sexual freedom and hence far fewer sexual acts are considered perverse than in other times and places.

I don't really know. The obvious answer is when it either becomes harmful to yourself or other people, but beyond that I really don't know.

LOL, we used to talk about everything. he had no sexual boundaries. Actually he nearly didnt tell me about that one, I cant even remember how the conversation came up, and I wont even begin to try and explain that friendship. I dont see him now, not for any reason apart from we lost touch, but I have known a fair few people in my life that are extremely fucked up by most peoples standards.
I guess I do think its perverse in one sense, because the thought of it does make me go eeeeeeeew, but I dont think its THAT bad and its not like rape, because the animal was the instigator. Its just something I would never have the inclination to do, but that doesnt necessarily mean its morally wrong, its just completely nauseating.
If someone catches an animal and forces themselves upon it, then thats certainly morally wrong.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make in a post above, that we seem now to have reached some bizarre situation where we think everything is acceptable and legitimate in the pursuit of sexual gratification, and we're afraid to call anything deviant lest we be labelled judgmental. But anyone who does this to their dog is a sick fucker who shouldn't be allowed near animals, and I bet the RSPCA would probably agree with me too.

I agree completely; people can bat around the "judgemental" label as much as they like and it still wouldn't change my personal opinion that it's unacceptable to engage in any sexual acts with any animal. I might be outing myself as dreadfully conservative (I don't think I am, to be honest) but I would definitely define it as cruelty to an animal - and I know the RSPCA would, to pick up on your other point.

The brain and the thought-process of animals - I'll stick with the given example of a dog - is so inherently different to our own that it's most definitely ludicrous to assume consent because the dog is interested. As anyone with any experience of dogs would know, they are interested in [shagging] absolutely anything that smells or tastes vaguely of pretty much anything. I would definitely go so far as to call it rape, and if anyone even thought about fucking my dog then it'd be the worst for them. ;)
