View Full Version : Foot pain

For the last three days my right foot has absolutely killed. I've had to limp absolutely everywhere and walking downstairs especially is a nightmare. I'm not even sure what I've done to it. It may be because I knocked into something the other night, but I'm not entirely sure because the pain didn't start til around 12 hours after I'd done that.

I have a pain from my big toe, diagonally across my foot and round to the outside part of my ankle. Someone said that maybe I've done something to my metatarsal bone? It doesn't look particularly bruised or swollen but there is a faint line leading up from my big toe.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea as to what is wrong with my foot and how long it'll take to heal? Walking is really painful.

Thanks.

I had something similar, it developed randomly, tehre was nothing i did to my foot but it hurt to put weight on it or bend it... went to the docs and he said that it was likely that i had stepped on something and somehow pulled a muscle in my foot without noticing it, he said the muscle just needed to heal.. and it did :)... don't know if thats any help

Hi mystifymysoul

Sounds like you're in a lot of pain - I think it would be a good idea to get yourself an appointment with your GP - or if the pain is that bad - perhaps to A&E - then they can take an x-ray to find out how extensive the injury is.

Good Luck :thumb:

I can't think what it's clled but my friend had something .. oh yes Gout that's it.

caused by alcohol being converted into crystals that are sharp as razors and they migrate downwards into the big toe. Were you drinking before this happened?

Actually alcohol has nearly nothing to do with gout. The only thing it could be related to is a bad diet.

Gout is a type of inflamatory arthretis, usually occuring in the feet. Its caused by the overproduction of uric acid. Usually caused by genetics though it can be a complication of other things. Most notably, stress, diets, high blood pressure, exessive exercise. Most people rid themselves of the acid thru their pee, though in people that don't, it turns to sodium something crystals and collects in your joint fluids.

My good friend suffers from it.

It really doesn't sound like it to me, but if your interested, here ya go http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gout/DS00090/DSECTION=1
