The US Navy has just caught some pirates off Somalia. No real debate - I just thought it was interesting...
PS - Why couldn't they just call the ship the Winston Churchill - the 'S' seems a bit superfluous.

Interesting that pirates in that sense still exist. Pirates always seem to be something of stories, or the past.

Americans love middle initials: George W Bush, Hunter S Thompson, Samuel L Jackson et al. I don't know why.
Apparently the waters around Somalia are full of pirates. Sadly fewer peg legs and parrots than I'd have expected though.

Yeah... Today's Pirates are far less fun.
The chinese are havingbig problems with Pirates too, mostly from Vietnam.

Modern day pirates are nothing to smile about sadly. In certain areas such as parts of South East Asia, it is a big problem and there are daily attacks.
More often than not they will leave the ship's occupants live but there have been cases where they have murdered everyone onboard.
even a passenger cruise liner was attacked a few months ago- though they managed to repel the attack with a sonic weapon some ships carry nowadays.
