View Full Version : MP3 File Skipping
I have a song I converted from an original CD to an MP3 at 192 kb/s
It plays perfectly in my car CD player and on my P3 500 MHz Laptop
But on my Athlon 1GHz with 512MB of RAM it skips in 3 different players and also sounds distorted.
Any ideas?
Using the kazza lite codecs, wondering if this is the problem because when I play the song an icon appears inthe bottom right corner

Hey Diamond,
Get the k-lite codec pack, it should sort it out. If that fails, get VideoLan Player (known as VLC) which uses it's own codecs, and try it in that.

Tried that 2nd player and same problems - so guess it's something else giving problems
I've tried a number of software things and they didn't help.
But did change some of the settings inthe PC's BIOS and that seems to have help get rid of most of the skipping, not sure what I changed, did several things.
Machine is an ASUS Terminator with built in Sound Card - also downloading newer drivers
But the BIOS changes have made the most difference so far.

chuck me the file? gotta be quick though, or pacient enough to wait till tomorrow as im nearly done for the day. It could be the file, as it gets converted when you burn to CD :)
