I'm sure I'm not the only person slightly confused about this. What I've got about the drinking laws in Thailand are a bit...messed up.
What I've managed to get so far is that:
1)To buy alcohol from a shop you must be 18
2)But....you need to be 20 to drink in a bar or go into a club
3)However most of the time people don't care
4)But a 19 year old got arrested two weeks ago for drinking in a bar.
Now it's not a huge issue as I turn 20 on the 28th (24 days after I arrive). But I'm sort of terrified that I may actually have to stay in with my parents in the evening.
Anybody with a good innerworking of the alcohol laws of Thailand, please reply. I've got visions of drinking with my parents :impissed:
