View Full Version : Thai Airport and Purple Hair

Hey, I'm going to Thailand on the 3rd to go and visit my parents for a month. Thing is after they left I dyed purple and pink streaks in my hair.
My mum thinks they are going to think I'm some sort of drug dealer and demand a cavity search, unpleasant but also puts my dad's job at risk. I think she's talking crap considering how many students and backpackers travel through there everyday.
Should I dye my hair back before? Or should I keep it pink and purple?

If they judge you by your hair colour then thats truly insane.

You aren't any more likely to have drugs stashed on you than the next person.

Don't change your hair colour just because of that.

Lol! You are so true. It's not even as if it's like loud or offensive. It's very subtle and even my conservative older sister likes it. If my mum doesn't like it then she can march me to the hairdressers herself. And she can't do that because I'm almost 20 and that would be silly

I agree with everyone else, HOWEVER, is it worth upsetting your mum over? Also, although it's unlikely, imagine how awful you would feel if it did happen and like you say, put your father's job at risk. Maybe in order to keep the peace you should die your hair to cover it. You can also get it re-done when you return...?

Almost the more wierd and druggie you look the less likely you are to get searched, they know proper druggies are too nervous to carry anything through customs.

The usual mule for drugs is a early 20's female in plain dress trying a bit too hard not to be noticed.
