What are they like to help improve all round fitness and also to help aid weight loss?

V good for aerobic fitness, works on legs, back and arms all at once. Will loose weight just because of work done. V good imo.

Well actully, it's not the weight loss I'm that worried about, it's working out my upper body more more than anything.

Cheers, doods :),

Just remember not to rely on your back, or you'll hurt yourself.

ROWING MACHINES... There's no need for an apostrophe...

Anyways... Yeah, one of the better machines for all round fitness... But i'd also recommmend doing plenty of push-ups and crunches to give yourself a nice even workout. Aye!

Remember to keep your back as straight as you can.

They are awesome, rowing is an excellent way to burn calories.

For a bit of competition against yourself and something to motivate you, try and get the fastest time you can for 2km. My fastest is 6:47. Go on, I dare you ;).

I used to row at school so regularly used the rowing machines. When I go to the gym now I see people using them ridiculously. They think because they're on a rowing machine and they're so great at fitness they need to do 50 Strokes per minute at lightning pace. Really, it's better to improve your technique, to get a better all round work-out and take it easier. Just take it slow but use long hard strokes. Don't bend your back, and most importantly, let your legs do their work before using your arms.
