dont think its about age, think its about the strength and length of the relationship. Always think there should be a long engagement too before the knot is tied.

The couple should always live together first, too.

Firstly i dont think you should just suddenly decide to get married as soon as you're as certain age, as Kate said its about the strength of the relationship & whether you're ready for the commitment!

But i believe late 20s/early 30s is the right time to choose to get married. That way you have lived your life & around that age you're usually ready to settle down & continue the rest of your life with that somebody!

I agree that you should not rush marriage but I don't think you should even say eary 20s/late 30s. It is very different for each and every couple. I am getting married this year and I am 22. I want to live my life with my fiance and I can and will do that. I am also ready to settle down now too.

In a way you have contradicted yourself.

Whenever you feel the time is right, as cliched as it sounds.

You need to be sure that getting married to your partner is the right thing for you, at that time.

Obviously the time will differ for everybody..there is no "right" or "wrong" answer.

fisrtly I dont think there is a SET age you can get married as it depends on the stage of the relationship you're at and it has to be strong etc..
Secondly hasnt there already been a thread about this?

I want to be with my current partner. But I want to do things by myself at some point, go travelling, build up a succesful career. If I was married then I'd either have to put my marriage or my dreams first and second, and I don't want to compromise either. Just wait until it's right for you.

You can never say an age because you don't know when you'll find the right person. I'm 21, married, and met my wife when I was 17.

I'd say depends what suits you... Personally I don't think marriage is my cup of tea (but hey, never been anywhere near love) and there are other options, like a handfasting that lasts a year and a day.
