can someone recommend a good bit of software to enable me to access .rar files please.

Whatever is currently on my pc it doesnt work, every .rar file i download.. and have downloaded for as long as i can remember has always been read as " corrupt" or something similar.

Oh and something free would be great cheers :)

No, don't, google 7Zip, its far better, it does nearly every compression format availible.

downloaded winrar last night.

WinRAR is the nuts, but i've found myself using ZipGenius 6 at the moment, it does the job and it's free. Quite a bit of functionality too.
