Anyone had problems installing this? Every time I try to install it, it says that the file is corrupt or it cannot unpack a certain file. Tried downloading it half a dozen servers and get the same problems.

Have you tried reinstalling BF1942 and then doing it from a clean install? And sorry, I've not tried to install it. But in my experience bf1942 is a lot more rugged than vietnam and doesn't poo up all the time.
