Try exercising and wearing yourself out?

What about a few drops of lavander (sp) oil on your pillow at night. This quite often works for me :)

How about a heating pad, or electric blanket. It helps me fall asleep - only downfall is.... I usually get too hot and throw if off me in the middle of the night.

But that isn't a sound sleep. You don't wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after an alcohol-induced sleep.

Exercise would actually make you feel more alert.

Warm milk has chemicals which help to induce a sleepy state. Lavinder helps. Lighting candles an hour before you go to bed, dimming the lights etc helps to 'prepare' you mind that it's time to rest.

If men having trouble sleeping, masturbating releases chemicals which help them to rest. However, with women, it has the opposite effect and makes them more alert.

Good luck :)

Kentish (I love immunology. It's embryology that does it for me)

Hot milk and honey, both the warm milk and the honey act to induce sleep.

It probably was me, both honey and hot milk have proven qualities that relax and induce sleep; its the same with Horlicks.

Mum always used to make it for me if I couldn't sleep, and it nearly always worked. Kept me sane during A'Levels :thumb:

that warm milk stuff is just some urban myth, there is chemicals that help you sleep but they don't take effect for hours so it's not a get-to-sleep quick miracle cure, i saw it in that sleep program on tv a while back, exercise does help you get to sleep, my trouble is is that i think too much at night, i can't just switch off so i end up drifting away at 4 or 5 in the morning, then waking up for school which ain't anice thing...

Although it may sound silly, try relaxation. It's the best thing you ca ever do i think anyway!
Jyst keep telling yourself that you're relaxed and relax every part of your body. Then tell yourself you will start to feel sleepy and keep relaxing. repaet until your eyes tart to close. et voila!!!
best thing I ever did!!! Also, try opening a window to let fresh air in and don't do any work/concentration activities too soon before bed!

hope this helps

music - some decent music can make me goto sleep - make sures it something you like - obviously i dont mean just music- but songs as well, i usually listen to some u2 (more quieter songs) and they are relaxing...

try thinking of stuff and it will relax you, like what you will be doing tomorrow -or maybe just start imaging things you wanna do but cant and before you know it you will be out

if you have stress *dont think about those things!*
