I thought they cancelled it? Have they brought it back then?

The first season was pretty good, the second one I didnt think was very funny, and some of the 3rd season were rather good.

All in all its funny, but doesnt stand up to multipule watching like the best seasons of the Simpsons does.

Series one was the best selling tv dvd of all time in the states - so Fox re-commissioned it. Personally I thought it showed a continual decline series by series (though was always funny). The third season didn't have any spark at all.

I do agree with you, though one or two of the 3rd season were quite good, certainly better than season 2 which I think is the poorest of the lot.

yeah, to a large extent I agree with what you guys are saying about the inconsistent episodes, but i'm hoping that they will make the effort with this series now that they've been brought back from the brink

Yeah, it's hard to be consistent when you are constantly being threatened with the axe - I think I remember reading it was axed about 3 times before the final cancellation.

Seth MacFarlane (sic) who created the show and voiced Peter, Brian and Stewie Griffin made another show in the meantime called American Dad. There are torrents I've been fortunate enough to watch. Helped satistfy the cravings. Family Guy has been infinitely superior to recent Simpsons' series because it's had more a cutting edge and willingness to take on taboo topics. American Dad yet more so. The new series' will be superb.

I don't really find that show funny at all. It used to be a craze a couple years back when everyone bought the DVD. Half the fools jumping on the band wagon.

Each to his own.

My thoughts on the series

Series 1- Tried to hard to convey a sense of character. Saying that, I still think it was funny, though the plot continuation throughout was pretty poor.
Whilst this series was all round very funny, it was definately the worst for me

Series 2- There are some absolute classics in this series; "Road to Road Island" and "I Am Peter, Hear Me Roar" being ones to note. A much 'smoother' series in terms of the character development and plot. Excellent all round. Some of the character developments (Lois and Stewie especially) were really welcome changes

Series 3- The first 12 episodes on this are all absolute classics. After this they become a little inconsistent, despite the fact that most of them are super funny. Definately my favourite series, though it might have served better to cut a few of the episodes and reduce the amount of episodes per season

Series 4- Seth MacFarlane has said that this is by far the most 'complete' season and his personal favourite. This could probably be attributed to the fact that they now have a security for their production. Hopefully this will be just as funny as the last seasons, but I do not want to run the risk of over-hyping it just in case it doesn't live up to my expectations

Also, in terms of 'funniness' vs The Simpsons I would have to say that Family Guy just wins out. The Simpsons is equal at it's best but sometimes they just produce such trite episodes that I lose faith in them

Character rundom

Homer vs Peter- Homer
Marge vs Lois- Lois!!!
Bart vs Chris- Bart
Lisa vs Meg- Meg
Maggie vs Stewie- Stewie!!!
Lenny, Carl, Moe vs Brian,Quagmire,Tom- Brian,Quagmire,Tom
Duffman vs Greased Up Deaf Guy- Duffman!!!

Just my thoughts

You've gotta love the family guy! One of the best shows ever made (perhaps second place to the Simpsons!)

I  Family Guy! I think it's one of the funniest shows ever created! One of my guy friends got my into the show just this year. lol The funniest was when Lois was thinking about getting a job and Peter was talking to his friends about it.

So, Lois wants a job? I've got a job for her! Right here! <points down> ................. my zipper needs to be fixed!

LMAO Ahhh such a classic.
