what are the chances of getting any STD's from just oral sex if you've never had sex before but your partner has....

I realised i know all the risks of sex, but didnt think about keeping an eye out for anything from oral sex...

cheers for any help!

There is a risk, but it's far less than with unprotected penetrative sex.

i presume, you are talking about oral sex without protection?!

think of it like this:
you can catch an std from contact with any infected bodily fluid. - it's that simple!!

There is a risk, but it's far less than with unprotected penetrative sex.
yes, it is a far lesser chance to catch hiv orally, but there are still high risks associated with other stds such as herpes for example.

it also depends a great deal whether you cum in your partners mouth or take it out before ejaculation... taking it out obviously poses a much lesser risk.

if you've never had sex before but your partner has....
the only way it would be possible to answer this, is if you know whether your partner is infected with any stds?

or look at it another way, if you don't know...
you are potentially at risk from your partner and everyone else who your partner has had sex with... and everyone they have had sex with... and everyone they've had sex with... etc

If your unsure i suggest you ask your partner to go for a full sexual MOT at the local GUM clinic, that way you'll know if theres any risk or not.

Dental dams (http://www.contraceptioneducation.co.uk/docs/dental%20dams%20fact%20sheet.htm) are small sheets of latex which can be used during oral sex to help protect against the risk of STIs.
