what is delayed guitar please help needed

i'm trying to write an article on my mates band but not sure how a delayed guitar is different and how you can tell it apart from anything else please help deadline tomorrow xxxx

If you have delay in your signal path, everything you play will be repeated, normally slightly quieter than the original note. It's difficult to put into words really. If you listen to the intro from Welcome to the Jungle by G'n'R the guitar has delay on it.

So to tell you have to listen closely for a part repeating getting constantly quieter, that's delay. Echo is probably a better term for it really.
