It's out on April 29th. I saw the trailer (http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/main.html) for it on T4 earlier today and remembered that Martin Freeman is the lead. That's my ex's cousin. Therefore he will be at the premiere. You may have seen him in 'The Office' or 'Hardware'.
Anywho, it looks good. I didn't think I'd want to go and see it but the trailer changed my mind.
Just some useless information for you.

It will never live up to the book and I'll probably hate it.
Of course, I'll go and see it anyway just to make sure...

I loved the books, but hated the series. The film looks good though, i'm also really looking forwards to the remake of Willy Wonker! :hyper:

Willy wonker looks terrifying in the trailer - must be the Johnny Depp as Michael Jackson makeup

Talking of Willy Wonker (Charlie And The Chocolate Factory), I thought that the original interpretation wasn't that good. The "Witches" I did enjoy though.
In Hitch Hikers, I've read the first 4 books. Just got to read Mostly Harmless. Will the film be about the first book only?

Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me can I take the aliens up to the bridge. And me, with this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left hand side...
Did anyone ever hear the song "Marvin, I Love You"? Classic!

I'm bumping this up as opening day approahes.
I was speaking to a journo yesterday who had just been to a special preview for the press, and she says the film was brilliant. At the end of it the whole audience gave it a massive applause.
She then made the point of stressing these people were journalists, most of whom see themselves as too cool for words and not prone to such behaviour. She says she has never seen such warm reception at a press preview of a film.
Sounds good to me... :)
