Ok, on my (don't laugh) P1 rig, it likes to randomly jam up when im playing Red Alert for no reason I can tell. I though it was the processor, as the one in it was o/c'ed, but its not, I changed that bitch. I also changed the ram as I could put in a bigger stick.
So, any ideas what tends to go on old PC's? Note it is a TOTAL freeze, windows won't respond either, I cant do anything, no ctrl alt delete, alt tabs or what have you.

driver support is obvious. Is red alert patched properly? Version of windows are you running?
You need to be a lot more specific?

motherboard itself? Sometimes the whole thing goes, did it on mine once.

I download the patch (Then had to find a working, non-dead floppy. Damn lack of USB ports. :( ) Its running win 98, I know it works, i've installed it on other PC's and it never freezes. Drivers, I got the latest sound card ones out there. Took a while, its an old ISA card. :p
Graphics card? Hmm, its a (Off the label) Expert Color S3 765. It only does up to 16 colours, and windows recognises it.
I hope its not the mobo... eep, might have to get another old PC. Oh well, its free.

Are you sure Command and Conquer will support 16 colour play?
