I got some 60day trial thing with my Dell pc... I thought I;'d have a go at making my own avatar with some pictures of my lovely self ;) on it.
How the HELL do i get pictures onto it? I managed to make a background... but now I just fail miserably. I can play with a picture tube though.
Anyone know any tutorials for thickos like me?! Cheers!

Hmm, it's been a long time since I used your product. Try opening up a picture, press CTRL+A to select it all and click your background you want to use then press CTRL + V (I think it may be different in PS8) and layer the pic on top and then resize it.
If you had Photoshop then I could be more help :).
p.s. Have a read of the help manual included, open the program and click HELP on the far right.

Either copy and paste, or you can save the picture to my work, and go to something like edit > insert and find the picture, and it will add it as an extra layer.
I can't remember completely, macromedia fireworks for me :p

When the PSP8 trial runs out, try and get a copy of PSP7. I've used it solidly since September 2000. PSP8 takes up 400MB of disk space. PSP7 takes up 40MB. 8 was geared towards web graphics, but underneath, it was pretty much the same kettle of fish.
I never saw much of PSP9 though.

PSP 7 has an infinite free trial if you keep reinstalling it.
I now own REAL PSP 8 now, mind.
I never saw much of PSP9 though.
My mine gripe with PSP9 is how long it takes to start up compared to PSP5. If I click the PSP5 icon then it opens and is ready to use in a second. If I click the PSP9 icon then it takes about 12 seconds to start up loading lots of DLL files and stuff, probably for features that I'll never use.
Also I think that in trying to include more features in the later versions they have made various things more difficult and less intuitive to use, which was always something that I liked in PSP compared to Photoshop.
