I've been at uni the past couple of weeks so I haven't used my home computer. It was fine before I left but yesterday when I logged on there is something strange going on with the desktop:

It looks like my desktop is opened as a folder? And I can't drag anything on my desktop into another folder, it just comes up with the black circle with a line through the middle. I've tried clicking on the bit down the side and I've had a look at my desktop settings, but I can't figure out what is going on with it. And I've rebooted and everything as well. Even weirder is the fact that everyone else's desktop is fine, its just mine that is doing this?

Anyone got any ideas of what this could be and how I could get rid of it? Thanks!

Looks like you've somehow set your desktop to be viewed differently. The desktop is treated like a sort of folder (normally where you keep shortcuts to programs, etc), so it's just a case of sorting out that view. It might be in the Control Panel, under Folder Options. There maybe something there to sort out the view of your desktop, or if all else fails use the reset folders option.
