I've been with my current hosting company for almost 2 years now and they're great and offer 4 MySQL Databases and 150mb of space for £20 per year, however the big downfall is they only give me 1gb of traffic per month, which I paid extra to upgrade to 1.5gb per month but I need more at least 3gb to 5gb a month I reckon and maybe 200mb of space and more MySQL databases .. any suggestions?

Most of my users are based in the UK so a fast hosting company in the UK perhaps so there is less hops to get to my site?? or maybe it's better to host in the USA, etc?, Also frontpage 2003 support is needed.

I have found one US company that charges only $5 per month for a lot of space and traffic but not sure how reliable they are, so personal recommendations are always good to have.

I use www.gradwell.com though they are more expensive than the amount you pay. It's 100 meg/day standard transfer which is what, 3000 M per month, or 3 gig. Plus they are soft limits so you wont get your service suspended if you go over.

Uk based, and you get very good support from them if you have issues.

That's like over 600 mb per day of transfer for about £30 per year

The only thing that puts me off is their way stiff T&C's which look scarey and the fact their website don't exactly in stil huge confence but I've been using their forum for over a year without problems

I'm inclined to think in the "you get what you pay for" line, but I do not know. I guess the US folk may be able to offer cheaper hosting because of higher numbers of interested people maybe.

You do seem to get a lot for 5$.

no, bandwidth in the usa is considerably cheaper than it is in the uk, hence why they are able to offer lower prices than uk based webhosts.

I use a company called UK Web Soutions Direct (http://www.ukwsd.co.uk), they've been pretty good and the service is quite good too.

Over the past year i had 2 years i've had several free bandwidth upgrades dues to them upgrading their end, which i thought was pretty good.

But as jake0 said, bandwidth in the US does seem to be a lot cheaper than over here.

That's not too bad, their 100mb packages at least has 4gb of transfer included about 4 times what I have now.

That does look too bad actually. Also think about trying A Small Orange (http://www.asmallorange.com/services/hosting/) which seems to be pretty good!

I'm considering using them for my next host, but havent got anything i want to put on the net yet.

Nice website but it doesn't go into too much detail of what'sincluded like how many MySQL Databases, etc.

I looked at some hosting review sites and that seems to be a good indicator of reliable hosting companies.

This looks good for $40 per year

http://www.arvixe.com/index.php?menu=hosting&section=vplans

includes unlimited MySQL Databases

I've seen some companies offer some enourmous amounts of bandwidth and space but like 1 MySQL Database :eek2:

This site's owner also looks like he does a good job in trying to please customers and I've seen about 150 positive comments on his service.

You may want to try out Forumer (http://www.forumer.com) they offer free blogs and forums. They do a decent job, and are really supportive. I've had my site up for two years with them and havn't had any problems. You can find them at http://www.forumer.com
