so i finally got an ftp working ( go me! ) using smart ftp.. its connected to my Blueyonder website etc, last night i trnasfered a picture to test it but i cant find the picture .. tbh i have no idea what im doing with this ftp stuff... where does the picture go? i had to keep resetting my webspace because it was for want of a better word broken and wouldnt load up new stuff. i though when ou transfered something to your webspace you would just type in the website name with the files name at the end but that didnt work so i must be wrong...

Where on the server is it located?

For example. If you had a folder in your main directory called "pics" and you put your picture in there you would type www.richeh.com/pics/mypic.jpg (if it's a jpg file)

Or if you just your picture is in your main directory then it would look something like www.richeh.com/mypic.jpg

i believe that would be http://www.rich3h.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk ??

the main directory in smart ftp seems to be the ftp address for blueyonder with folders below it named : htdocs; logs; stats .. i made a new folder called my stuff and copied a picture into it but im still confused sorry

How bloody annoying im doing everything right and its not working ! ... anyone else got any helpful ideas ?

cant get this to work whatsoever.... :mad: ... It transfers to my blueyonder pwp thing but when i search for it i cant find it

OK you are uploading a picture. An obvious thing some people miss is that some web servers are case sensitive. This means that MyPiccy.jpg is different to MyPiccy.JPG even though windows would normally see it as the same thing.

Next if you have put it in myfolder then it would be www.mydomainname.whatever/myfolder/MyPiccy.jpg etc etc
