As I said when it was posted in that other thread it reflects the sense of humour of a 8 year old.

Its not clever enough to be offensive, its just pathetic, its certainly not funny.

I showed it to my gay flat mate. He is currently looking up the forum to save the pic to be his background. But then he says that some with less stupid senses of humour than his in the gay communtiy might find it offensive.

It's all about context really. If it was a poster in a gay bar, no one would care. If it was in say Extreme Right propaganda, then it would be offensive.

Depends on the context.

If that picture is sent by email between good friends as a joke, then it is not. The main reason being it's a private joke between two individuals.

However the word 'fag' is offensive generally speaking, if used as a matter of fact to describe gay people.

If I say 'penis' to someone in a certain context it's offensive, doesn't mean the word penis is offensive though. With regards to the images - the 'you're gay' comments on them aren't really funny, the images themselves are though. Especially the one with that frizzy haired guy being attacked by a fire extinguisher :D.

I can see how some people would be offended, but then again when used in the context of a joke (as it was, as far as I beleive) the offended parties should look at it from a different perspective. Some people are so homophobiaphobic (scared of homophobia :p) that they'll call you homophobic as soon as you say the word 'gay'. Eg: "this song is gay" - means the same as "this song is pants" more or less doesn't it? But obviously no, it's a jibe against the homosexual community.

To be honest the idea of making some point with this thread is pretty low Fiend, the original discussion about the image took place in a thread started by someone concerned and worried about their sexuality.

So since everyone has said it's about context let's consider it in the context it was originally used, to insult and flame a person who came somewhere looking for help about their sexuality.

As others have said it demends on the context it's used in. The fact is in must cases "your a fag" is intended and usually recieved as an insult. Gays are the last minority that it's still ok to insult in that way. Change the word queer or fag to a certain word starting with N and see how acceptable it sounds.
