I'm pleased to see that it's the Irish who have "outed" them though. Sends a message.

The Irish govt have never liked the IRA though. In the Republic, Sinn Fein are considered a slightly radical minority party, with little support. I suppose since they're a Marxist party, they have little more in common with the Irish parties beyond a united Ireland.

But at the same time, it's definately good to see such explicit condemnation coming from an Irish rather than British govt.

Martin McGuiness denied it on Radio 4 this morning.................

As he is the most likely to know, I guess it aint official yet.

Oh case closed everyone, Martin said it's nothing to do with him. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

Do you think he is telling the truth then? Given that PIRA members aren't known for advertising that fact...

I don't have a clue who is on the war council. He may be lying. It may be disinformation.

It cannot be officiak though until it is proven beyond doubt.

i dont think any of them are on the actual army council, the IRA will do operations on it's on accord without their permission but saying that, they do have a certain influence, i.e. can ask the IRA to do operations for them
