Microgynon 20

Has anyone tried this pill? I've searched the board but everyone seems to use Microgynon 30. I've been on Yasmin and its not good for me (really sore boobs and sad mood) so I'm about to give this one a bash. Just wondered if anyone had any good/bad experiences on it?

I am on microgynon 50 (because the others were too weak for me) , I don't seem to have any problems at all with it.

All you can do is give it a try, because everyone is different.

i was on microgynon 30 for 7 years and it suited me down to the ground.

only came off cause i couldn't remember to take it properly and it was doing evil things to my cycle.

Microgyon 20 like the weakest one then?
As I think my Doctor put me on the lightest one as I reacted badly to other the forms of contraception I used in the past.

I ended up coming of that as well though. Only cause I noticed the increased appetite I had while I was on it. And I am determined to keep my weight off. As I put on a couple stone with the depo injection.

sorry can't help cos i was on microgynon 30 but have you tried the mini pill?? i thought it was so much better :yes:

I used to be on microgynon but it didn't react well with me...however think it was 30 I was on. Now on marvelon and not had any problems with that.

I was on mycrogynon and it played hell with me. I was forever crying for nothing and I started getting PMT.... grr.

Then I changed to Yasmin and its amazing. No more mood swings and PMT has reduced loads... it works brilliantly for me. Isn't it wierd how people are different!

I used to be on the mini-pill because my doctor didnt know if there was an increased risk of breast cancer on the combined pill (my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer at quite a young age). I didnt get on with it at all so I went back and he told me he had done some research and I wasnt at a higher risk than anyone else. He put me on Mircogynon 30 and the only side affect I've had is really sore boobs but so far so good! How do they know what strength pill to put you on?

i think they just start out with the general strength one, see how you get on, and if you need it any lower or higher, adjust as necessary.

i'm on Mircogynon 30 and im feeling exactly as you just said. ive been on it just over a week and have such sore boobs and crazy moods and feel sooo so down.

I was on microgynon 30 and it was a nightmare, put on weight, had mood swings, and its form of working was to take away my sex drive. I don't know how my poor boyfriend or mates put up with me. I'm on noriday now, its a proestrogen (sp?) only one and its good, only problem is I've only got a 3hour time period to remember to take it, instead of 12 hours I had with microgynon.

I was on Cerazette which is also a progesterone only pill (mini-pill) but that one has a 12 hour window like the combined pill. I think its the only type of mini-pill that does.
