Stupid Question I know!

I have been on the pill for many years but hardly relied on it as contraception as I've not been with anyone for ages till now. I was on antibiotics but I've stopped them and waited 10days until I had sex - thats fine I'm not pregnant.
So from now on I will DEF be ok won't I even if he cums in me, I know stupid thick question just having a blonde moment! I know it won't protect against STIs
Also do you know does hayfever stuff - Claratin etc affect the pill?

You're not being blonde at all! If anything you're being sensible! Anti-biotics do effect the effectiveness of the pill, details on how and how long you should wait before sex again should come on the little pamphlet with your tabs...as I've come to believe anyway!

As long as you're no longer taking them, then your pill should be...back on track and working fine. If anyones more wise up then yay or nay to what I just said? But this info is from, past threads I've read on similar questions!

I don't think antihistimines (sp?!) affect the pill - they certainly never noticeably affected it for me but I only use it to regulate my period. Best bet, ask your pharmacist or read the leaflet in your pill packet, as Malt says. x

My doctor said on Monday that if he put me on antibiotics then I'd have to use alternative contraception for the rest of my pack,just to be safe.

Anti-histamines do not affect the contraceptive pill.

If you are concerned about the effect a drug is ahving on your contraception, then you nheed to pop into your local dispensing pharmacist and ask the pharmacist there. Don't waste your doctor's time, as the pharmacist is actually the best-qualified person to give you advice on medication.
