This is a weird question, but I'll probably explain why I ask it later...
What does it mean when a kid (around 7 years old) draws images of people dying by being cut in two and stuff like that? I know it usually has a certain meaning, but I don't know what that is... And assume the kid in question hasn't seen anything like that or similar happen.

to me that would say the kid is having too many violent influences in his everyday life....maybe too many over PGfilms.
could be wrong though

Thanks for your reply, but that doesn't sound like it at all...
Anyone else?

It's probably nothing, an overactive imagination. It can be a sign of manic depression though. Does anything like that run in the family?

Weapons, violence, kicking the shit out of people and Power Rangers are all cool things when you're young. I wouldn't look too much into it.

Not all the time.
Ask him why he's doing it if it's worrying you. Respond on his response.

depends what it means to the kid...
does not mean anything necessarily...

Well, thing is, that was me, but I don't remember why... And the idea I've gotten from books and movies and stuff is that it's very shocking when someone does that... I don't think I was watching anything more violent than Darkwing Duck either.
Do you consider yourself mentally unstable?
If not, you've answered your question. Nobody could say your motives behind the drawings without a detailed account of your childhood but if you're fine nowadays then chances are you'll just have been your average little boy dreaming of being Superman or one of the Power Rangers like Capacity said.

I designed a car with a chainsaw on the front, that would cut people to shreds. And used to draw huge battles :D but I could only draw stickmen, so I wasn't able to draw them getting cut in half :( but used to stick stick-swords through them.

Yeah I used to draw violent deaths when I was little too. Homicidal fantasies are perfectly normal I'm sure :o
