You could buy a bikini tied in the neck, and then H&M do these regular tops from bathing suit fabric, and just put it on top.
It can look really cool actually.

My swimming gear consists of little shorts and a vest style top. I bought it online on a swimwear site.

Loads of catalogues do them, but I've not seen many in the shops.

haha i think i own the most conservative swimwear of anyone i know. including my 54 year old mother!

i swim in..........
a rash vest (t-shirt made from swimming type material for surfing) and surf shorts which usually go past my knees haha

i dunno i just cant lay on the beach wearing less clothes than my underwear contains! so i go for more clothes than i usually wear!

I got a really nice tankini last year from Marks and Spencers, so it might be worth checking them out again, also Next have some really nice stuff.

I have a lovely tankini from BHS (might even wear it sometime), wasn't that expensive either. You have to search through the mass of old woman swimwear though.

Sports shops do them; look for Speedo. I like little revealing bikinis on the beach; if you're on holiday, no-one walking past you is likely to see you again so wear what you like.
