I have a confession to make.

I've never had colour in my hair.

Now as highly as I rate it (not to blow my own trumpet), I don't know if I should.

The reason. All I ever have seen in terms of colour in guys hair is birdshit highlights throughout. Seriously that's all I've ever seen, bar from the odd Goth with blue hair (and scalp). Maybe I don't read enough shitty magazines or watch enough piss-poor TV, but what are my options?

Oh yer, and those 'catalogues' with manly-hairstyles in that you read in the salons - How do I get one? Because the Internet is absolutely shit for mens fashion in any way, shape or form.

1) You can get hair magazines in most places that sell magazines, really. Only they are mainly women's, as far as I know, and usually just have a little section for men.

2) What kind of hair dye are you after? It's pointless getting it done for the sake of it, you must have something in mind, even if it's just general.

Well, the next time you're in a newsagent's, take a look; the titles are generally something like 'HAIRSTYLES', you can't miss them ;)

TBH I think only blondes can get away with highlights and the like. Dark haired lads can only get away with full head colours, and then of course with the hair being short, you get obvious roots straight away.

I have a very understanding stylist. She'd sort my shit out if I could be arsed. The only problem is she has no guts. I'll be like "do whit ya will Cora" an' she'll be like "Ok.. Errhh.. Umm.. How about a rough idea?"

Get a magazine like 'Hair' or something and have a flick through. Theres nothing wrong with coloured hair on guys, so long as the right colours/tones and styles are used. Have to agree though, a full head of highlights is cringe-worthy the majority of the time. Don't just put colour in for the sake of it though, cos it'll probably look crap, but go for it if you see something you like or whatever.
