At a guess, because the 'University of Coventry' doesn't sound quite so good. :/

Believe me, it wouldn't make that much sense to you, even if you knew Danish.

It annoys me that it's named that.
Excuse me for my lacks in British Geography, but are Coventry and Warwick near each other?

i was about to say that cov does have redeeming factors, before i realised it only has one, and i have taken him from there ;)

Yeah Coventry doesn't sound as prestigious as Warwick somehow.

A marketing decision I think.
