Hi I just wondered if anyone else with a K700i on O2 has been having problems with texts (both normal and media). For the past month or so I've been having problems with my phone receiving text, it can take hours and in a few cases days for them to deliver to me. I have contacted o2 but they are not particularily helpful, they just send me these automated response e-mails telling me to rub the sim card with a lint free cloth etc! None of the suggestions have worked!

I'm stuck with my contract until October :crying: grr If I wasn't a poor little student then I would pay off the contract and leave O2. They are pretty crappy when it comes to customer service etc

Their was an article on watchdog last friday. Basically the k700 doesnt work properly with the o2 network and o2 knew this but still sold the phone anyway, the bastards, yes ;)
Anyway, they have apparently stopped selling the phone but thats not any use to you now sadly. Go into an o2 shop and talk it over with them and tell them about whats going on, see how that goes.
I dont know the solution to your problem, in fact neither does o2 tbh. Your stuck with it atm.
Its the same issues you have, in some cases the texts done coem through for days/weeks and when they do they all come at once. ALso their are problems with picture messaging in relation to o2 and the k700, Shit eh :/
Oh btw, also contact Sony Ericsson and explain it to them, they may well get you to send the mobile to them for repari or software upgrade to see if that helps. But like i send as it stands i dont believe their is an actual solution for the issues.
I did a little bit of searching for you, try emailing SE via the link below.
email Sony Ericsson here (http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ph1_2_1&zone=ph&CID=105&subject=Opt1)

YaY - I'm with T-Mobile and Loving it :thumb:
its a fact that T-Mob is actually better than o2 is now when it comes to the amount of calls dropped. Thats how shite o2 has become in all honesty, in fact moreso. T-Mob is utter rank imo yet they are better than o2.

Hey, so long as the network works for me. I have no complaints :thumb:
o2 problem is they've added a huge amounts of extra mobiles to the network while not expanding the hardware quick enough. Having said that it is rare I get problems.
yeah, and you also have to remember that 3g uses the o2 network as well, in fact i heard tha to2 actually gave 3g more of its resources for 3g than for its own network, wether theres any truth in that i dont know

hey thanks for the advice, I shall go into an O2 shop tomorrow and kick some ass. Well I will try to, I've never been much good at complaining. If they are really unhelpful I could say that I will contact watchdog - I'm sure they will be very scared of Nicky Campbell  Going to contact Sony Ericsson too I think. When my contract expires, I wont be sticking with O2!
Read this (http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/thisweek/index3.shtml)
Thats the article that was on watchdog last week.
O2 have been selling the Sony Ericsson K700i - a phone that isn't completely compatible with their network. Some models of this phone can't receive text messages on the O2 network yet it is still being promoted by the company.
and if you want to contact watchdog ;) (http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/contact/index.shtml)

I realised that I hadn't received a text for over a day (very unusual for me), so I called 02 tonight and as soon as I said it was a K700i, the response was, oh, havent you heard...!
The line I was spun was that Sony have a software problem with the phone that can't be solved so if my problem continues (after I've done the standard, take the sim card out and clean out), then I should call 02 back and they will offer me an alternative phone (which will be a Nokia but they didn't know which one!)
Thanks for advising that it is an 02 problem as now I will go and kick some ass in the shop (only had it November and on contract!)

I have been emailing o2 for the last couple of weeks and they have as usual been un-helpful i went into an o2 shop today and they said that the problem was now fixed with new handsets and that i should ring the customer service line and argue for a replacement, which i did and a soon as i mentioned i had a k700i they offered me a replacement so will have to wait and see if the problem is fixed!!
i dunno about u guys, but i got my k700i from a shop online (ie. NOT 02 themselves)
are 02 likely to actually hepl me with my problem or try an shrug it off an tell me to complain to the ppl i bought mine from, or from sony themselves.
I have had the fone since august '04, so i'm kinda thinking that if i havent complained by now that they're not gonna b interested
any clues?
