Martha Wainwright, the little sister of the theatrical and rather dandy-ish singer songwriter, Rufus Wainwright is most definitely destined for great things - or at least she should be.
Her songs are heartfelt, earnest and emotive and reflect the angst, and heartache experienced by an intelligent but emotionally led young woman. One that listens to her heart rather than her head.
She has sensitive lyrics that are perfectly accompanied by her gorgeous raspy vocals and set against gentle guitar strumming and piano playing.
Her current EP, "Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole" is not a raucous shout it from the rooftops vent-your-spleen kind of record, but an honest portrayal of the feelings of a woman confused, betrayed and in love.
Listen to the title track and see if you like it. I dare you not to!
