there's not a lot you can say really, other than that you're there for her if she wants to talk.

random observation - 4 years together seems to be a stage a lot of couples split!

with my friends it seems to have been 3 years. :chin:

My friend was after 4 and there were so many reasons why it should have collapsed way before that...enough to help her scrutinise and bitch her way through the 'agony' of her split up and into the next blokes arms.

Be there to hear all, she'll appreciate you!

Yeah, being there is the best thing you can do for her, let her talk it all out and analyse it all again and again with you if thats what she wants to do. Try to get her out a bit as well, not to clubs or anything but even round your house to watch a film, shopping or the cinema may help - quiet things that will help take her mind off her ex. Often when you break up with someone you find all these gaps in your time that you used to spend with him, so its nice to be able to do something to fill up the spaces and not to sit around moping, thinking that you're never going to have a life again. Nah really... analysis... Most relationships won't last forever (though perhaps some souls are kindred and will meet in each life the couple has) and the reason why they don't last is that they're not meant to be. Sometimes it's the fault of one person yeah... But not usually.

Usually things don't work out because of mistakes, but mistakes are there to be learned from and....

Well anyway, I guess maybe she could have a weekend away to clear her head? make a few changes in routine.
