after 2 years my remington pro-ceramic straighteners are starting to die; the ceramic coating has started to peel off.

Im either going to get the same ones again or go for a more expensive pair.

I also need them to be able to curl when twisted as i had this done by a hairdresser and i stayed curly for 2 days. Doesnt work with my remington's.

So- suggestions and vote please

(only votes from people who have used them please)

GHD all the way for me.

I've tried Hair Tools and Kodo ones before but I havent found the result to be as good when I've been GHDed :)

at the moment im leaning towards the kodos because i really cant afford GHD or the wet 2 straight.

Anyone else use them other than Tink? They do look good...but they must be able to curl too

Well i have just bought a pair of T3 straighteners and i have to say they are better than any of the ones i have tried, including GHD, and they are made by hair art. Would totally recomend them.

My boyfriends sister bought some wide plat GHD's but she thinks they are crap to the ones she had before which are made by sax i think.

Your best bet though is probably buying a make like GHD/Kodo that are used in salons rather from everyday ones in Argos that you can get for around the same price.

me and Kodos didn't get on at all. they bollocksed up my hair good and proper :(

I'm currently on a pair of HairArt ones. Not the T3s, something a little less blingy. they're basically standard GHDs, but half the price and less of the dodgy electrics. i love them.

The ones i had before were Hairtools, which work ok, but aren't the greatest, and the ceramic bit chips off really easily.

It's worth while saving up for just a little bit longer and getting the pair you really want :)

this is the problem though; i dont actually know which ones i want! i wish i could try them all out first and then i woudnt mind paying alot if they worked really well. The only ceramic straighteners ive ever used is the remington power ceramic

well when i went on a makeover thing is the only time a hairdresser has used straighteners on me. I dont tend to get my hair cut or styled just the odd dry trim!

might have to phone up the makeover place :chin:

ok another question, are GHDs ceramic coated or solid ceramic?

ceramic coated, but the good way. not the shitty-chip-off way.

it means the temperature is more stable, apparently. i always though solid ceramic was better, but it seems i was wrong.

can you curl with t3s?

does the ceramic plate go right to the edge?

Yes and you can curl with them it says in the spec's that you can although i have never tried to curl my hair with any straighteners because i'm not sure how you would go about it.

Oh and the fact that my hair is curly/waby to start off with so it would kind of defeat the object :plooksee (http://www.salonlines.co.uk/forwomen/index.php?p=1&category_id=405&product_id=1150)

i have the model below that (these ones!) (http://www.saloneasy.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=21&products_id=82101) and they are every bit as good as GHDs, imo. and I've used GHDs quite a lot.

i totally recommend hairart stuff.

have u tried curling with these? if not do they straighten well enough to only go once over your hair and keep it poker all day?

i've never tried to curl with them, tbh. i look like annie the orphan with curly hair :(

if the sections are the right size once over straightens them perfectly, and cause i don't wash my hair every day, it stays straight until i do wash it.

I use my girlfriends GHDs now and again, however i picked up a pair of nameless ceramic ones in the summer for £20 new and they are just as good and dont tell me im a boy and dont know anything about them.

for real.
