Any recommendations/opinions?? I'm doing an exam on jean jeunet films (specifically amelie, delicatessen and city of lost children) any other films not necessary by jeunet anyone could recommend?
Another thing, how many people have seen Baise Moi? I found it fairly horrific.

I think he has just made a new one. It's about to come out at the cinema, it's not out yet. it's called "The Long Engagement" and stars the girl from Amelie. It's a war-ish film :)

Moulin Rouge, the old version. My granddad was french, he and my gran used the theme tune as "their song" and my mum loved the film.

La Nouvelle Eve is an ok French film.

I can't remember who made it but it's only a few years old. :)

Oh and I'd agree on Baise Moi, got what they were doing but it just felt too long and liked the misery too much

i really like it, but no doubt the americans will balls it up good and proper.

why do they feel they must remake films for an american audience? can't they read subtitles?

Taxi is really funny - they have 2 and 3 and possibly 4 out now - americans are so lame with thier not being able to read subtitiles thing - then again they had to have trainspotting subtitled so they clearly are all just a bit dense - you don't even need subtitles to watch it - i saw it in the cinema in france and had no problems understanding it.

A very Long Engagement - was a book which I've read its very good and should make a good film as well - its about World War 1.

Betty Blue is amasing and definatly worth a watch.

And totally not a french film but I saw a really good German film called something like recreating Lennin - v funny.

I really liked Francois Ozon's Sitcom, it's a black comedy and it's quite bizarre.

Les Enfants du Paradis is a fantastic old film.

And don't forget Clouzot's Les Diaboliques.

It was directed by Luc Besson though.
