No I didn't know that.

Because i think it looks alright and looks better than geling my hair which is increasingly harder as it becomes longer.

Thanks.

You can get thin GHD's, which are good for use with short hair. I don't really know many straighteners, just stick with my GHD's.

The straight 2 wet ones might not be as useful for a bloke; hardly takes them long to dry their hair!

You could always go to a hair salon and ask them to recommend ones suitable for your hair length/type.

Whats your point? Many guys are just as concerned with their hair as girls :)

Anyways...ive had my GHDs for ages now and I think they are great. I would definately recommend them. They might seem expensive, but mine have lasted and are worth it. Also, they heat up super quickly so no waiting about in the mornings and stuff...

I've got Wet2Straight ones (absolutely fab!) but they might not be what you want. I know my sister's male ex-flatmate (random!) got the mini GHDs - purely to do his spiky quiff bits at the front (more money than sense!) and thought they were ace...

alternatively remmington's normal ceramic ones would work just fine.

You want high heat, as you've quite thick hair, but thin plates, as your hair is short. GHDs are good, but remmington do exactly the same for cheaper price.

Even when you straighten it, you still need to style it. Unless you acutally want to look like Ringo Star that is.

Also, don't use gel. Unless you have ultra-short ned hair and want a spider fringe, gel will not work.

I don't think anyone's offended, it's just kinda sad all the guys you've ever met have the short back and sides council-cut.

agree. Gel looks crap, feels hard and goes all flakey.
Fibre putty is probably your best bet. Tresemme do a really good one that mr Brite likes a lot, more than the expensive ones hes bought from salons in fact.

danny, i have to agree with everyone...

1. get a trim...
2. style it..
3. you DO look a tad bit like... a member of the beatles/ in the 70's...

you should def. see a stylist.. and see what they have to say.. but get an idea yourself of what you would like?

you're so adorable! you and your hair!

Tigi really isn't all that good. The Bed Head stuff is just about okay, I guess. Really sucks for the £10+ price range.. And I still keep giving them a chance whenever they bring something new out. Manipulator; what a pile of shit indeed. ;<

I sent them back and got a replacement but my mind was made up that GHDs are a waste of time when my second pair caught fire while I was using them! My first pair of GHD's blew up and got them replaced. My mate's first pair also blew up. I'm starting to doubt the quality of GHD's. Though, saying that my second pair have lasted nearly 2yrs....

"i want a new style....something that i can do up or wear down and will suit me.....do whatever you want" stylists love that level of trust and freedom to do whatever they want and what they do ALWAYS looks good....even if you dont think so at first

It really isn't nubby.

Grow your hair abit longer than in the picture I saw in the picture thread. The thing with long hair is that while you're growing it it's hard to make it look that good. However in the end you will look coolish. Hopefully.

Anyroad; grow it then go to a salon. Not a hairdresser. You might be set back about 25 quid. Don't be nervous. They'll ask you what you want doing to which you reply 'anything so long as it looks cool and stays long, I just want it tidying up'. Explain that it's the first time you've grown it. She'll (assuming it's a she) give you suggestions. Don't be scared to say 'no, fo' if you don't like the idea. Better yet you could ask if she's got any catalogue books you can look at while you're waiting. Pay attention to how she styles it and what she uses; you'll get frustrated beyond comprefuckinghension when you can't get it to look as good as it did in the salon.

Next; roll topsides deep to a convenience store named Boots (not Argos). Get some for about 30 - 40 quid. Check them on the online websites first, and the reviewing websites (Kelkoo or something, for example?)

You're pretty much sorted. No more ned for a while, even though the profile of 'tryhard-indie-r0x0r' is nothing to be joyous over, at least you can say you don't beat people up for walking down the road. Oh yer, ask them to seriously suggest some decent hair product that you can use. If it smells like bullshit it probably is, so if she sounds like she's just trying to flog her shit to you, pass politely. Run along to boots and get some of the 4-quidish hair stuff. Brylcream-Matt green tub stuff is OK if you can use it.

But seriously, there's nothing worse than someone who straightens their hair and wears it like you would if it just past your eyes (as it should be) when it's not even long enough.

GOOD LUCK, GOOD SIR. ;o

i have these ones. ive had them 2 years and they have always worked really well. They make my friends hair poker straight and she has an afro.

The only downside is that they are only ceramic coated and not solid ceramic. The coating started to come off mine the other day. However i was trying to do wierd things with them so maybe it wasnt their fault

but they are very good value for money and do the job

They work well but the on/off button is where you grip them so I always end up turning them off halfway through doing my hair. Can get annoying.
