Hi there,
Over the past months I've been tentatively looking into various routes for after 6th form and this plan appears to have formed:
1. After finished year 13 become a teaching assistant/specialist role in my current school (a previous 6th former did this sveral years ago and the school took him in full-time and shaped his duties to his interests/career plans etc) Hopefully this work would be paid
2. After this (or instead of, or at time when vacancy arises) apply for job as teaching assistant in school
3. Whilst working as teaching assistant (part-time if possible- this seems quite common) begin a part-time degree at my local FE college in English and Education
4. Complete the degree and get on the GTTR which runs in my school and it appears if they still like me they can elect for me to train there as one of my two local placements
5. Become a teacher!
I reckon this would take about 7/8 years...what does everyone think? Am I looking too far into the future or is it good to have ideas like this?
