If you need to cry, it's generally a good idea to just let it happen.
If you're crying a lot, talk to somebody about what is wrong, because something is obviously triggering it.
If it is mild insomnia, try drinking hot milk and honey before yopu go to bed, and maybe trry some Nytol. There's a good sleep guide knocking about on this fine website somewhere,
Thesite good sleeping guide (http://www.thesite.org/youthnet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=286&a=2844)
Sleeping disorders (http://www.thesite.org/youthnet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=159&a=2895)
and just for good measure Insomnia (http://www.thesite.org/youthnet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=159&a=313)

JsT and Kermit,
- Thanx guys.

I know but I can't seem, at the moment, to get through an hour without crying and then I pretend to be okay for a little while and then I'm crying again. I don't feel like I've slept in ages. I know what is triggereing it... I just hope it will go away.
Anyway, looks like I'll be drinking milk with honey in it tonight - see if it works, sounds quite nice... thanx again.

when you heat milk it produces i have forgooten the name for it right now ...chemical which helps you sleep.
drink it as hot as possible.

For the insomnia force yourself to stay awake:) I'll explain further:
For example you wake @ 2pm then you would normally stay awake all night & then go to sleep @ 7am the following day. Instead of going to sleep @ 7am then stay awake for the whole of that day & then when it gets round to a more normal bedtime then in theory you should be really tired & wanting your bed & sleep.
To keep yourself awake do something productive(AVOID your bed) & use your will power to break the cycle. As in your body is saying I need sleep now then resist it & force the tiredness to the back of your mind.

I've tried that several times and it is so hard to keep awake. I usually fall asleep by about 2pm and wake up feeling even more shitty. As for the crying, I agree, just let it out. Other than that you can't really do anything apart from resolving the situation that made you cry.
On a completely random note otter, which staff uni do you go to? I go to the one in Stoke :)
I cried my eyes out last tuesday night, i had a whole bottle of wine (might not seem like alot but i dont ever drink) which lead to calling the ex up and shouting at him, then crying for 5hours resulting in migraine and wisdom tooth ache all night... if your gona cry.... try and not do it drunk, god i was in pain

I would try and get through today. drink coffee lots etc, and get hold of some herbal sleeping tablets, nytol or natrasleep. Any chemist sells them.
Then at 6 or 7pm, take one or two with a cup of malted milk, and go to bed. You will sleep and tommorow youll probably cry a lot less.
I once went for 4 days with no sleep (although i was speeding) and by the end of it I couldnt stop crying. Lack of sleep does it to you.

What rainbow said is so true, I can normally at least half control my emotions, but deprive me of sleep and I'm gone. Last week I cried to most of my uni tutors, and some of the time I didnt even feel that bad at that particular time, I was just exhausted and everything seemed too much.
Hope you get some sleep, and feel better soon. Hugs xxx

As for the drunken crying aimz, I know how you feel! I've just started drinking again after ages not being allowed to drink, and last friday it all ended disastrously! Too much alcohol and some issues, and it was not a pretty sight :(

I used to be like that when I was younger, I've got used to it over the years but the sheer exhaustion and the desperation to sleep and failing miserable should to have me crying all the time - makes you very emotional and sensitive. I used to have herbal remedies they used to calm me down quite a bit and that just sorta lulled me into a doze at least
*hugs*
Ya poor thing
