My main PC refuses to connect to the internet. I've been getting slightly varied error messages. The latest one is that the connection has timed out. AOL [ ] were no help. I don't have a firewall, so it's not that, it's not a hardware problem, it's not a virus that I can see, I've tried re-installing everything, I've had someone else take a look and they can't find anything wrong.
Any suggestions?

If you are running AOL9, then uninstall it. And install AOL8, also AOHell 'help lines' are run by bumbling idiots, so its not worth the 25 minute phone cue to talk to some irish lad that doesnt know a modem from a potato.
Try a system restore to about 3 weeks ago, it should help.
If not, change ISP
