Me and some mates have bought weekend tickets for this, a dance event being held at the Butlins Complex at the end of November. Admittedly I don't know many of the acts there, but i've been wanting to get into this scene for a long time and thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I'm particularly looking forward to the Helter Skelter arena with all the oldskool stuff- Ratpack, Baby D and Altern8, and also Micky Finn and Leeroy Thornhill, but yea, i've never been to an event like this before.

I was just wandering if anybodys been to this event in the past few years its been running, or similar to this...what should I expect? Do the people involved with this (such as Helter Skelter etc) generally put on a good show? Whats the security like when it comes to drugs?

Is it like a normal festival, where you can walk around and stuff, grab soemthing to eat, or will I find myself stepping from one stage to another and dancing all night long?

Also, will I feel like a total fool around everybody else due to not being too experienced at raving and all that, or do people geenrally just not give a shit if you're new to it all.

The line-up is here (http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/cgi/asp_events/event_info.asp?event_id=180038C3B3045E1D&category=Music) if anybodys interested, and the official site here (http://www.thebigreunion.co.uk)

Any tips and suggestions of people I should check out are much appeciated.

No never been myself but the HSO arena looks quite good, Evenson Allen and Lipmaster Mark of the Ratpack would be best along with Baby D. Also wouldn't mind taking a look in the Good Fridays arena as well. Hope it's a good one.

Just make sure you go see Rebekah because she is a honey!

actually im a little put off by how 'polished' the site looks. Dance events need to be seedy, underground :D

well the ones that i wanna attend anyway, but i gotta admit the lineup is good for this time of year.

Line up's dont always make a good night though.

I've seen Baby D live before, good, but not really hard enough for my liking.

Aw, damn, I was hoping it wouldn't be that sort of event. And yea, I know what you mean about it being 'polished', but as a bit of a beginner i'm sure it will do me nicely. Cheers guys.

Quite a few people i know are going to this, they were advertising it in Zante when i went away there in August for alot of people who went away with 2wentys etc to go to that for a reunion thing, atleast i think its the same thing your talking about? i wanted to go to it myself but never got round to sorting it out.

Thought I may aswell give some feedback about it ..Got back from Skeggy yesterday and had a pretty good time. Ratpack were fucking amazing except the heat was pretty hard to hack. Altern8 were cool, also enjoyed Micky Finn.

Was a shame about all the fucking pissheads there, a suprising amount of the lager lout types which I didn't expect there, but apart from the knobs it was pretty good. For my first event it was cool, although dissapointingly I found most people to be pretty unfriendy... although thats probably becasue I wasn't wearing some skimpy outfit waving my ass and boobs infront of everybody. It seemed a shame that a lot of people were solely there to pull, dampened the atmosphere a bit, but oh well.

But yea, the Helter Skelter arena was good fun... all the costumes and glowsticks and that. I could do with getting my dancing skills up - but can't wait for the next one :D

I think the harder the music, in the main the better the crowd, I've found some Old Skool crowds to be a bit arsey, just quite a lot of drunks.
