Hello.

This forum is a bit different to the others; it’s here to help us get exposure for TheSite.org. As you know, we are a charity and we need coverage in the press to help our profile with potential funders and supporters. In short, we have to demonstrate that you find TheSite.org helpful and supportive.

Often we get calls from journalists wanting to go onto the boards to research articles. This has its good and bad points. On the one hand it’s great to get the exposure but on the other hand we DO NOT want you guys to be unwittingly used and abused. No, really.

And that’s why we decided to create this forum. From time to time we will give permission to journalists (vetoed by our communications manager Lucja) to come on here and canvass your opinions or try and recruit you for interviews.

Sometimes our inhouse fundraisers or marketing people might also come on and ask for your help. For example, when we do reports for funders, it’s great to have direct quotes from users saying how much they like our stuff.

So what do you get out of it? Well, taking part in interviews is excellent experience. It builds your confidence and you'll go away knowing that you have helped us enormously (...and may even be given a few goodies for your efforts)

As we’ve already said, threads will only appear on this forum if we are happy with them. Thanks again for your help. You can PM or email a mod if you have any questions. Alternatively email Lucja our Communications Queen on lucja.wisniewska@youthnet.org
