Who has tried this? how well did you do? and did you train for it?

I'm gonna have to start practising the bleep test, which means going to a local field with some cones and looking a complete tit end running back and forth.

I've tried it once before. I didn't get very far and felt very sick afterwards. That's how bloody unfit I am.

i did the test twice im my whole time at secondary school. Didnt train for it..they just sprang it up on us at random PE lessons. First time was year 9 and i got level 8 i think. year 11 was 2nd and got level 10.5 or soemthing similar. Why do you have to do it?

I've done quite a few bleep tests firstly at school and more recently with my football team. All the tests are different so someone telling you how they did wouldn't be much help because you will probably have a different kind of test.

The bleeb test isn't used to get you fit I don't think it is a measure of your fitness.

To measure your fitness I suggest you take a reading of your pulse over a minute whilst in resting state, do the bleep test and then take your pulse reading again whilst your knackered. Then you want to do your fitness training either at a gym or manual exercises at home or on the field etc.. then you want to come back to the bleep test after a few weeks and take the readings again.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong because I think I'm right but not 100% sure but you should find that your pulse reading is a lot lower after your exercise the more fitter you are.

Done it. It's all about controlling your pace. What you really need to do is build your stamina, and reduce your recovery time, then you should be good to go.

Kind of, it obviously shouldn't be too low. Somewhere between 60 and 90 bpm is normal. You need to make sure you're working yourself hard enough during excercise. Assuming you're in your 20s x0x_kayz_x0x it's probably between 120 and 160 if you're of moderate fitness during excercise.

max heart rate is roughly 220 - your age.

target heart rate (for full on fitness building) is 75-85% of this remaining number.

get a heart rate monitor if you really want to improve your fitness, they start at about £30 and can be used in conjunction with your legs to make you fitter. ;)

A gal i know did it as part of her course and she said it was an ass. I never even heard of it before she mentioned it to me a few months back.
