I think the idea of anyone paying £13.4 million for Woodgate is presposterous, but Real are welcome to him...they seem to be systematically ridding the Premiership of its most overrated, underachieving players. In my opinion, anyway.
The thing that struck me when reading that article was what an absolute **** Dyer is (big revelation). He's the manager now or something? He has this "my shit doesn't stink" attitude that I hate. He seriously needed to apologise

With his injuries of late the price of 13.4 million does seem a little high, so i agree with the first bit. But Woodgate, overrated, don't know which woodgate you've been watching but he is a class defender. He has the ability to mark Thierry Henry out of a game so how is he overrated?, he is one of the best defenders in the Premiership when he's fit and when everyones available for selection for England it is only Cambell and Ferdinand keeping him out IMO.
The only risk you would be taking on Woodgate is whether he is fit or not, if he was guaranteed to be fit then 13.4mil isn't asking too much imo, and he is well worth it. He would add something massive to Real Madrids defence if he was fit.
Summed up I think Woody is a class player.

It was interesting to see Dyer getting booed every time he touched the ball during the England match at St James. THAT is why he apologised.
I think Newcastle should sell him. He's made 28 Permiership starts for Newcastle since he joined them.
Shame Leeds didnt put a sell on clause in, we could have had a much needed £3m!

yes a fit woodgate is potentially one of the top defenders in europe, alongside Walter Samuel it could well be Real Madrid's defensive problems sorted.

Which was a disgrace really.
The "man" is a prize prick, I have no doubt about that, but club issues shouldn't be brought to international matches.
If the geordies want to boo him when he has their shirt on then fine, but not when he has the three lions on...

Well I understand tickets were around 40-45 quid, well I wouldnt pay that much for a friendly, in circumstances like this they are best of giving the tickets they know they wont sell to local boys clubs, thus getting a new generation interested in the game.

It used to happen at Wembley a lot.
Basically though, the number of subs used over the past few years has helped devalue the freindlies. Plus when anyone looked at the team, it was obvious that the game wasn't going to be used to try many new players, and we all know how the existing team plays...

Would YOU pay £35 a ticket to watch a friendly like that?
Take your two kids and you're looking at £100 for something that nobody takes seriously.
Though never let that get in the way of a good bitch

it was always going to happen. pretty naff opposition, after the season just started. newcastle fans are quite fanatical about their club so they'll have bought a fair few season tickets, which are pretty steep. so it'd make a pretty good idea to go to the mcalpine or somewhere like that, smaller stadium, more chance of a full house etc etc.
its not difficult. we can see that. so why cant the FA?
too busy playing "pass the secretary" i suppose.
